POTENTIALLY PREJUDICAL INFORMATION LETTERS

Addressing the concerns that INZ have with your visa application

Have you received a Potentially Prejudicial Information (PPI) letter from Immigration New Zealand and feel uncertain about your next steps? Look no further. MILNZ are your trusted experts in addressing PPI letters and ensuring a smooth resolution. With our advice, you can navigate the complexities with confidence and secure your visa success.

Visa applicants sometimes find themselves in the stressful position of receiving a Potentially Prejudicial Information (PPI) letter from Immigration New Zealand. These letters are sent raising concerns an immigration officer may have regarding the evidence produced in support of an application. If there are concerns held that may affect the outcome of a decision, INZ is required to send a PPI letter to onshore applicants, and for those applying for residence offshore.

There are a multitude of reasons a PPI may be issued which can relate to any aspect of an application. But, any response needs to be handled with care given what is at stake – failing to address the issues raised in a PPI adequately can quickly lead to a declined application.

A deadline will be given to respond to INZ’s concerns, so we suggest seeking advice immediately if you are at all unsure of what is being asked. Deadlines can be extended, but, it may take time to produce a satisfactory response, or obtain additional information.

We are regularly engaged by migrants who have received a PPI letter to advise on the way forward; and reply on their behalf. Often a small amount of additional information can be provided to mitigate the concerns raised, but, in some instances a complex reply based on a thorough understanding of the rules is required.

If you have received a PPI letter and would like to discuss the best way forward, we suggest contacting us to discuss your options.
